Building It Ourselves We're often asked what it takes to build it yourself. Definitely need some basic skills and tools. If you don't even own a hammer right now, you might filling your toolbox may cost a bit more than you expect. On the other hand, with some core skills and common tools, you may find a project you enjoy, and get to appreciate every day of the year. For us, Bill was working full time, so much of our heavy-duty work happened evenings and weekends. Sharon spent days doing prep-work, like pre-staining the tongue-and-groove pine used to finish the cathedral ceiling. Safety is always important. We did have one fall-off-the-roof incident, with no broken bones, but certainly quite a bit of soreness! If you're curious about the DIY experience, feel free to contact us. We love to share our story. We've also had a variety of customers take the DIY route, and some that chose to do finish work. Either way, the experience is one you'll never forget! more... http://www.yourloghomeshow.com/modules/article/view.article.php/c10/18
