Inspiration for you!
Whew! Three years, all told, from being inspired by a friend's home to getting to move in to ours (while 8 months pregnant) is almost a blur, now. August, 2003 we added a daughter to our family, and life began anew in many ways.
It's now 3.5 years later, and we're quite settled in to our routines. And yet, every day I come home, it is with wonder and joy to see a log home at the end of the driveway. Walking in (with the requisit tripping over the cats), it is immediately relaxing to be surrounded by pine walls, drop onto the couch and look up at our cathedral ceiling, and know that WE built it all!
A weekend at home is like a vacation. Being back in the woods (we're almost 1/4 mile off the road), I can sit on the porch and enjoy the sounds of nature. In the mornings, when I get up early, I often see a deer or two. I wouldn't trade it for the world!
